The Network calls meetings after every two or three years. Since relaunching in 2013, two meetings were conducted in 2013 and 2016. The 2016 meeting was themed at restoring socio-ecological and socio-economic relationships in the miombo woodlands. This meeting brought together more than 80 participants, discussing issues impacting miombo forest functioning and discussed various solutions including restoring the forest or re-wilding lost species. This meeting was a follow up of the 2013 meeting that set up platform for collaboration among network member countries. The meeting also developed initial scientific plan for the Miombo Network.
