Aurélio Pais is a Mozambican researcher at the Zambeze University. He holds a degree in forestry engineering, a master’s degree in biodiversity management and conservation, and a doctorate in forest ecology from the Federal University of Lavras in Brazil.
He works in several kinds of research in the field of forest sciences, with emphasis on the dynamics of plant communities associated with anthropogenic disturbance. As a Lecturer, Aurélio Pais teaches the subjects of forest ecology, conservation biology, and fire ecology. He also acts as a consultant in the area of forest inventories and environmental impact assessment. He currently holds the position of Director of the Center for Ecology and Natural Resources Studies at the Zambeze University, Mozambique.
